Die Waffenlobby im Herzen Europas

Wie schafft es die europäische Waffenindustrie hunderte von Millionen Steuergelder als Subventionen für ihre Waffenforschung zu sichern? Wie kriegen sie es hin die europäische Sicherheitspolitik zu bestimmen? Warum sind sie so einflussreich?
Bram Vrancken (Vredesactie) wird uns erzählen wie Rheinmetall und andere Waffenhersteller in Brüssel mit ihren Lobbyisten, Thinktanks, Clubs und informellen Netzwerken agieren; wie ihre Dachverbände EU Funktionäre „beraten“; wie sie den Politprozess und die europäische Verteidigungspolitik beeinflussen.
Die EU Finanzierung durch Verträge wie PESCO (deutsch SSZ) wird immer wichtiger für die Finanzierung und Punktesetzung nationaler Verteidigungspolitik. Wird es für AntimilitaristInnen auch immer wichtiger zusammen auf europäischer Ebene zu streiten?
Martin Jähnert arbeitet als lobbykritischer Stadtführer. Er wird uns berichten, mit welchen Mitteln die deutsche Rüstungsindustrie in Berlin Einfluss nimmt und was am Politikfeld der Verteidigungs- und Sicherheitspolitik aus lobbykritischer Perspektive besonders ist.
Der Workshop findet hauptsächlich in englischer Sprache statt, es wird wahrscheinlich auf deutsch übersetzt. Bitte informiert euch hier über Updates!

How does the European arms industry manage to get hundreds of millions of tax payer´s money as subsidy for their research into new weaponry? How can they dictate security policies? Why are they so influential?
Bram Vrancken (Vredesactie) will reveal how the Rheinmetall and other companies are present in Brussels with their lobbyists, thinktanks, clubs and informal networks. Their umbrella organisations give advice to EU functionaries. They influence policy making and the defence agenda on a European level. With EU money getting increasingly important for national defence through treaties as PESCO, there is a need for antimilitarist to jointly intervene on a European level.
Martin Jähnert works as a lobby-critical city guide. He will tell us about how the German armaments industry exerts influence in Berlin. He will look at happenings in the political fields of defence and security policy from a
lobby-critical perspective.
The main language of the workshop is English, with some German inputs that will be translated.
