Across the Arab world popular movements have risen against authoritarianism, only to face brutal crackdowns and repression.
This panel brings together Sudanese and Egyptian activists along with a journalistic covering of the Arab region to trace the connections and patterns between the struggles in Sudan, Egypt, and Palestine as well as the broader Arab region. The panel also exposes how Germany and the EU keep authoritarian regimes in power through arms, aid, and migration deals. We’ll talk about what’s really driving these crises, and what solidarity from here could actually look like.
